12th National Natural Language Processing Research Symposium

Co-organized by the Computing Society of the Philippines-Special Interest Group on Natural Language Processing (CSP SIG-NLP), National University Computing Research Center (NU CRC), and College of Computer Studies Silliman University. National University and Silliman University are both recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as Centers of Excellence in IT Education.
The 12th National Natural Language Processing Research Symposium (NNLPRS) will take place on April 22-23, 2016 at Silliman University. NNLPRS is a regular gathering of researchers from different fields working on the analysis, processing, and generation of human languages. This event is intended to provide a forum for the conduct of more research and international networking. The past symposia have covered a wide range of topics in NLP and were graced by international invited speakers:
- Prof. Robert Dale of Macquarie University, Australia in 2004;
- Prof. Chu-Ren Huang from Institute of Linguistics in Academia Sinica of Taiwan in 2007;
- Mr. Adam Pease of Articulate Software USA, and Prof. Gerald Nelson of the Chinese University of Hong Kong both in 2009;
- Prof. Dekai Wu from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2010;
- Prof. Hwee Tou Ng from the National University of Singapore in 2011; and
- Prof. Chiu-Yu Tseng from Academia Sinica of Taiwan and Dr. Tod Allman of the Graduate Institute of Linguistics in 2014.
- Prof. Enya Kong Tang from Linton University of Malaysia and Dr. Tod Allman of the Graduate Institute of Linguistics in 2015.
THEME
With the theme “Interdisciplinary Research and Collaboration”, the 12NNLPRS will be a venue for discussing the various challenges and opportunities that we face in integrating human language technologies in other disciplines. Papers on preliminary works describing the challenges and opportunities faced by the authors are also invited. All accepted papers will be presented as part of technical sessions and published in a separate NNLPRS proceeding.
